Delaware County – November 3rd Election Help

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The General Election is Tuesday, November 3rd. We have a lot of tasks to cover and would love your help!

We are looking for people who can help at our Election Office in the Wharf Building (2501 Seaport Drive, Chester, PA 19013), the Voting Machines Warehouse (403 East 24th Street, Chester, PA 19013) and five different locations where our Poll Workers will pick up and drop off election materials.

Please read the job descriptions posted on the front page of each Sign-Up Genius for more information. Some roles do require an additional day of training.

Additionally, we need teams of two to close and inactivate the many different drop boxes around the county. Teammates should not be related to each other. These teams must pick up the small metal drop box bar on Saturday, October 31st and then be prepared to insert the bar into the mouth of the drop box and lock it to close it exactly at 8:00pm. The key will then be returned to the pickup location. This is a simple but extremely critical job. The teams will not be responsible for ballots – only closing the drop boxes.

Shifts and job descriptions vary but we will start as early as 5:30am and work throughout the night to the early hours of November 4th. You may sign up for multiple jobs, however, please be mindful of the different start and stop times so we do not have gaps in coverage.

We hope to have County Workers, Paid Seasonal Employees and Volunteers helping with this process.

We need a lot of help so please consider what you can do to help the County conduct a successful election!

Pay (Seasonal Employees)

All positions are paid $13.50/hour with lots of opportunities for overtime. At the end of the seasonal assignment, staff will eligible for a lump sum bonus based upon hours worked. Monarch Staffing is administering payroll for this assignment. In order to be paid, you much follow steps outlined in an onboarding email sent from Monarch after you sign up for an Election Job.

COVID Precautions

  • All people helping with elections task are required to wear masks while working
  • Security will take temperatures as people come into the buildings
  • Hand sanitizer, spray and wipes readily available and we encourage people to use them

With all these precautions and good effort to be safe, you should know that we are in a shared office space with a lot of people coming in and out. If you would be uncomfortable sitting in a cubicle or workspace with many other people sharing the floor, this might not be the job for you.

Election Work is Non-Parisian

Delaware County election day activities are non-partisan so we ask that you do not wear clothing, buttons or face masks advertising a particular party or candidate. We also ask that you moderate your conversations so that we can focus on our service to the County rather than topics that may be perceived as partisan.

You will not be able to work/volunteer on this project if you are an elected official or paid staff member for a candidate, political party or committee.
