Update from Philadelphia County ARES on the SEPA Red Cross / ARES meetup on 20 August.
Greetings.
You have RSVP’d for the 20 August SEPA Red Cross / ARES meeting in Norristown. We are looking forward to having you there. Please bring your HT to join the morning workshop and practice manual programming channels. All SEPA ARES counties will be represented. We are also expecting ARRL Atlantic Division vice director Bob Famiglio K3RF, Eastern PA ARES SEC Bob Wilson W3BIG, and EPA ARES District 1 DEC Dick Stewart K3ITH.

8:30 to 9:30 – Coffee
9:30 to 11:30 – New ham instruction, how to program your HT and working with repeaters. Lecture and workshop. We’ll have a mini repeater and workshop for you to practice channel programming. Chirp will be available with the SEPA Red Cross Channel Plan to load your radio.
12:00 to 1:00 Lunch
1:00 to 2:00 Roundtable discussion with SEPA ARES representatives on mutual support and Red Cross.
2:00 to 3:00 Open time for fellowship and discussion.
Meeting will be held in building 33 in the Norristown Hospital complex. Set navigation to the corner of Market St and Circle Drive, Norristown PA 19403. See the attached map. From Sterigere St, enter the hospital complex on Circle drive. Ignore any road closed signs. Bldg 33 is 400 ft down, on the left. There will be someone in a Red Cross vest at the corner of Sterigere and Circle to help you make the turn.
