We had our January 2020 Delco ARES meeting on Monday the 13th at the 911 center in Media, PA
- Still working on frequency band plan for Delaware county, will publish and review when ready.
- Ideas for training at upcoming meetings:
- February - Messaging.
- March - Site visit with another local county ARES group.
- Informal get together at some point around the county.
- April 25 - Will be assisting with MS Walk at Ridley Creek State Park.
- Go kits have been ordered and will be arriving at some unknown point.
- Will need to inventory, assembly, document, program these once they arrive.
- Will be signed out to active ARES members (criteria to be determined, everyone at the meeting was considered to be active).
- Will be used for weekly Nets, and rotated accordingly so that all units stay in use, batteries charged, programming updated.
- Radio room still in process of being cleaned up and organized, will need space for working on the go kits once they arrive.
- Discussed radio propagation around the county.
- Will continue to get into the habit of giving our location at the weekly Net.
- Will map propagation data throughout the county so we are aware of good spots, and spots which have issues.
- Can start testing propagation at locations they could be likely shelter/POD sites.
- Long discussion from Ed Kline, we basically need to be prepared for any site in the county to be a possible deployment area, but public buildings (schools, municipal buildings) are most likely.
